Game Night Session!
JUNE

A huge thank you to Royal Credit Union for hosting our mentees for an engaging and interactive evening focused on financial literacy and career exploration. We kicked things off with dinner before diving into a hands-on learning experience that challenged our mentees to think about their future. Participants were assigned different careers and salaries, then tasked with creating budgets based on real-life scenarios such as being single, married, or married with children. This eye-opening activity helped them better understand the importance of financial planning, decision-making, and setting goals for the future. The conversations throughout the evening were powerful. Our mentees quickly learned that the choices they make today can have a major impact on the opportunities they have tomorrow. One of the biggest takeaways we shared with them was: "Show me your friends, and I'll show you your future." The people you surround yourself with, the habits you develop, and the decisions you make today all play a role in shaping your future success. Thank you again to Royal Credit Union for investing in our youth and providing an experience that was both educational and inspiring. Opportunities like these help our mentees see what's possible and motivate them to dream bigger, plan smarter, and work harder toward their goals.

Teamwork Activity
Yesterday, our POP ECASD District Wide Chapter spent the evening focused on one of the most important life skills: TEAMWORK! We kicked things off with some friendly competition through crossword puzzles and word scramble challenges that had our mentees thinking, communicating, and working together. From there, we moved into our major team-building activity where mentees were tasked with building towers while working within a fixed budget and limited materials. The challenge wasn’t easy, but they quickly learned the importance of strategy, communication, problem-solving, and collaboration. We were proud to watch each team rise to the occasion and figure it out together! After all the hard work, we headed to Olson’s Ice Cream to cool down with some ice cream and enjoy the summer vibes. 🍦☀️ We also spent time discussing our upcoming trip to Madison, and the excitement is definitely building! However, we reminded our mentees that opportunities like this are earned through commitment, consistency, and showing up. Attendance, participation, and engagement during our summer sessions will play a major role in determining who joins us on this experience. At POP, we’re not just creating activities—we’re creating opportunities to build character, accountability, leadership, and lifelong skills.
